I especially liked the combinatorics but all of it was pretty good. Number Theory again, although not much theory is required, but then even, even basic concepts like Quadratic Reciprocity are not covered which are now prerequisites for pretty much every olympiad happening out there. But no amount of studying any single book will guarantee you a medal at the IMO. The whole point of math Olympiad problems is that they’re not solvable by recipe. With the third edition, Paul has attempted to share hours and hours of fun, frustration, and discovery with these new problems. This is the best book on mathematical problem solving I’ve yet read, although I have neither read Larson’s nor Engel’s book, which are purported to be classics. Others would read it slowly and carefully, attempt to solve some of the problems, succeed in solving a number of them, and ask for help with the others.
