We use a combination of different methods of delivery to help achieve this: There are also modules that develop your employability skills if you have an interest in either facilitating writing groups yourself, or learning how the publishing industry operates. You can engage with a number of employability skills, work on a publication, and develop your own final project where you work on a longer portfolio in-depth, supervised by a member of our specialist team. The team have expertise in speculative fiction, historical fiction, scriptwriting, screenwriting, adaptation, poetry, experimental poetry, hybrid forms, horror fiction, literary fiction, creative non-fiction including memoir and true-crime , and are able to support writing in a number of genres. Many of our students note that this is one of the most enjoyable sections of their degree, as they are specialising in a literary topic that they are passionate about, and are putting into practice the skills they have accrued during their time at York St John University. The close connections between Britain and the Caribbean will be a particular focus, both in a historical and contemporary context.
Creative Writing MA
We will discuss these issues as they relate to identity politics and the intersections between class, gender, race, sexuality, ability, nation, and age in selected literary works.
